Load Balancer Technical Architecture

Enterprise Traffic Management

Our Load Balancers are designed for maximum reliability and ease of use, powered by world-class infrastructure.

Advanced Health Checks

Configurable active and passive health checks ensure traffic is only routed to healthy targets, avoiding downtime during server failures.

TLS Termination

Offload SSL/TLS decryption to the load balancer to free up CPU cycles on your nodes. Supports HTTP/2 and custom certificates.

L4 & L7 Balancing

Handle any TCP-based traffic (Layer 4) or application-level HTTP/HTTPS traffic (Layer 7) with Round Robin or Least Connections algorithms.

Powerful Networking, Simplified

Our Load Balancers work seamlessly with our Cloud and Dedicated servers. Improve your security by configuring your Load Balancer to act as the single point of entry into your infrastructure using Private Networks.

  • Supports TCP, HTTP, and HTTPS
  • Round Robin & Least Connections Algorithms
  • Proxy Protocol for Client IP Transparency
  • Automated Provisioning via API

Frequently asked questions

Find answers to common questions about our Load Balancer infrastructure.

  1. Can I use dedicated servers as a target?
Yes! Our Load Balancers are designed to bridge the virtual and physical worlds. You can distribute traffic to both Hostaffin Cloud servers and our Dedicated Root servers seamlessly.
  2. What balancing algorithms are available?
You can choose between Round Robin (distributes requests sequentially) and Least Connections (routes traffic to the server with the fewest active connections), depending on your application needs.
  3. Does the Load Balancer support SSL/TLS Termination?
Absolutely. You can upload any valid SSL/TLS certificate to the Load Balancer to handle decryption at the entry point, which reduces the CPU load on your backend servers.
  4. What happens if a backend server fails?
The Load Balancer performs continuous active and passive health checks. If a server is detected as unhealthy, it is automatically removed from the rotation until it passes health checks again.
  5. Can I automate Load Balancer configurations?
Yes. Our Load Balancers are fully automatable via our API. You can programmatically create, configure, and scale your load balancing infrastructure as your traffic demands change.
